For a 2008 study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology, researchers gave bee pollen phenolic extract (BPPE) to mice and rats with ovalbumin-induced allergies. Studies on the anti-allergic properties of bee pollen in humans are limited, so most allergy-related claims stem from research performed on rodents. “Many people use bee pollen to treat seasonal allergies,” says Sofia Norton, R.D. ![]() The samples also contained substantial phenolic compounds, including flavonoids-the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University notes that flavonoids might be linked to vascular health, blood sugar control, and other health benefits. ![]() Though the exact nutritional makeup of bee pollen depends on which plant the pollen was taken from, a 2012 analysis published in Molecules found that 22 samples of organic bee pollen collected in Portugal averaged 67.7% carbohydrate content, 21.8% crude protein, 5.2% crude fat, and 2.9% ash. That doesn’t mean bee pollen is useless, per se-it just means much more research is needed in order to establish definitive claims. “There aren't any benefits supported by a robust evidence base,” explains Ryan Andrews, R.D., of Precision Nutrition. The substance, along with other bee-related products like honey and beeswax, have long been collected and used as a natural health supplement.īecause many of the studies supporting the potential benefits of bee pollen were performed on rodents, we don’t know how much those results apply to humans. They then transport this mixture, known as bee pollen, back to beehives and store it there as a source of food for the rest of the hive. But how can you benefit from bee pollen, exactly? What is bee pollen, anyway?īees collect pollen from flowering plants and mix it with digestive enzymes. Proponents of the powdery substance say it has tons of health-boosting benefits ranging from immune support to heart health. You’ve probably seen jars of bee pollen available at your local health food store, and it’s becoming more popular on menus as a smoothie add-in, salad ingredient, or finishing touch to an açai bowl. ![]() 8/12/2023 0 Comments Subsonic 300 blackout ammo on deer![]() ![]() The CB’s were effective in picking up creatures at short ranges and were capable of shooting a silent coup de gras shot on a wounded but not killed prey. This gun’s sub HPs print 0.2 mil right of the SV solids, a simple adjustment when transitioning from paper to critters. The average sub-HP group is about twice as large as the average group of 75 and 100 yards. The Win HPs I prefer for red squirrels, on the other hand, leave a much larger exit hole for crows but do not kill them as quickly. Eley Subsonic HPs print 0.1 mil of solids on this gun, so it’s simple to switch from paper to critters. However, it is possible that it is more than you are willing to spend on a one-time basis. The reports sound similar, and they all appear to be similar to the reports for loads in the 1000 to 1100 fps range. The subsonic hollowpoints from SK, Eley, and CCI all worked well due to their good accuracy and terminal ballistics. They are significantly longer than the majority, causing some issues with their diets. If your rifle is capable of shooting Eley sub sonic HP, give them a shot. I’ve used CCI segmented Subsonics on tree rats for over a year, and the products are accurate and humane, read some Midway reviews, and gave it a try, haven’t had a crawler since. Finally, subsonic 22 ammo is less accurate than standard 22 ammo, so you’ll need to be a bit more careful when taking shots. Second, subsonic 22 ammo is much quieter than standard 22 ammo, so you may startle your prey if you’re not careful. First, subsonic 22 ammo is less powerful than standard 22 ammo, so you may not be able to take down game as effectively. Yes, you can hunt with subsonic 22 ammo, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Because of their fragile nature, these bullets can’t be relied on to perform as reliably on big game day. Hornady Black 300 Blackout ammo should work on deer or hogs (provided you don’t have better options), but not on large game such as deer (or anything larger than coyotes). Even with perfect bullet performance, the internal damage looks more like a shot from a bow or even better if it was from a scope. Sub sonic bullets have a drawback: they have no discernible expansion (minimal temporal cavity) when/if they expand. The Hornady 300 Black Bullet is a good choice for those looking to take aim. On an AR, bolt cycling is identical to supersonic crack cycling. If you prefer to make noise, a bolt-action gun is required. ![]() The hornady 190 Sub-X is one of only a few sub sonic instruments capable of performing aggressive expandable. Additionally, the subsonic bullet’s lower kinetic energy can be an advantage in some situations. This can be helpful in situations where you need to be stealthy, such as when hunting deer in dense woods. This is because the subsonic bullet has less kinetic energy than the supersonic bullet. Second, subsonic ammunition is also less powerful than supersonic ammunition. This is because the subsonic bullet is traveling through the air more slowly, and is thus more affected by wind. First, subsonic ammunition is generally less accurate than supersonic ammunition. Don’t Flip Too Earlyīurgers do need to be flipped, and you should ideally do this at the halfway stage in their cooking. Place the burgers on foil while they are resting to stop these juices from dripping away onto the grill. The burger will continue to residually cook when you remove it from the heat, and if you let them rest for about five minutes, the proteins within will relax, allowing some of the juices to absorb back into the burger and providing a more juicy texture. Raw meat contains juices in structures that are called myofibrils and during cooking some of these drip off the burger. All you are doing is squeezing some of the juice out of the burgers, and those juices provide texture and flavor in the burger, so you will want to keep them inside. Pressing your burgers does not help them cook quicker. To make sure your burger is deliciously cooked there are a few techniques you should master. Use one, and be sure to keep it clean between each use. Nobody can reliably check the internal temperature with any method besides using a thermometer, no matter how skilled they may claim to be. This is a crucial distinction, and the only reliable way to test whether a burger is done is to check the internal temperature.
